After Applying

Care, sauna, sun – and how to remove your tattoo.

All answers

My tattoo didn’t develop how I expected—any advice?

Common reasons:

  • The paper wasn’t completely soaked – then part of the design is missing.
  • It got wet or was rubbed in the first 8 hours.
  • Your clothes were too tight on the first day or while sleeping during the first 2 nights.
  • You showered, sweated or went to the sauna too early – wait until the next day.
  • There were still oil-based products on your skin (cream, lotion, sunscreen).
  • Every skin is different – colour and intensity can vary a little.

Can I hit the sauna with my Tattup?

Yes, from the next day on. Sweating even helps the colour develop – whether sauna, running or sports. 💦

Afterwards gently pat dry. From 48 hours on, once the colour has fully developed: apply a light, oil-free lotion daily.

Can I tan or sunbathe with a Tattup?

Yes. Afterwards gently pat dry instead of rubbing.

For sunscreen and lotion: oil-free products only.

How do I remove a Tattup tattoo?

Warm salt water and a gentle scrub (body scrub or washcloth) make it fade faster. Don’t overdo it if your skin is sensitive.

Right after applying you can still simply wash it off.

I washed my Tattup, and it vanished!

If it gets wet in the first 8 hours, the ink can’t soak in properly.

And don’t worry if it looks pale at first: the full colour only shows after 24–48 hours.

Are Tattup tattoos waterproof?

Yes. From the next day on you can shower, swim, do sports and go to the sauna. 💦

Just for the first 8 hours: no water, no rubbing.

Good to know: lots of water and rubbing make it fade a little faster.

What should I do if I get a skin reaction?

There’s a small risk of an allergy, because your skin may not know some of the ingredients yet.

  • If your skin gets irritated: wash the spot and stop using the tattoo.
  • A soothing cream helps with mild redness. Don’t scratch.
  • If itching or redness doesn’t go away, see a doctor.
  • Ink in your eye: rinse thoroughly with water right away.
